MEOPAR’s Annual Scientific Meeting and Annual Training Meeting bring together our wide-spanning network of researchers, trainees and partners from across the country to connect and collaborate, sharing research, results, sector knowledge and new ideas via panels, workshops, presentations and networking. While our 2020 event looks a little different, its focus is one that’s been unwavering over MEOPAR’s past eight years: the necessity of a coordinated Canadian approach to ocean research.

From October 19-22, the Annual Training Meeting (ATM) invites you to take in capacity building opportunities in topics including science policy, mental health for students and early-career researchers and research project management. The following week, October 26-29, we will host the Annual Science Meeting (ASM), gathering our researchers, HQP and partners for discussions on shared infrastructure initiatives and the future of MEOPAR, a showcase of Network research projects and much more.

Though we will be connecting virtually, from our various cities, towns and home-office set-ups, MEOPAR staff is working to ensure our ASM and ATM capture the essence of the in-person meetings of the past, offering avenues for questions, conversation and catching up. We hope to see you online!
