In 2021, the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development will officially begin. The Decade provides an opportunity to harness, stimulate and coordinate interdisciplinary research efforts at all levels of society to support information, actions and solutions needed to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Canada can contribute to these efforts by identifying collaborative ocean initiatives that will create new ideas, solutions, and partnerships to advance the Decade objectives. Panelists will summarize the UN Decade concept and provide early ideas on what individuals and organizations can contribute to this international effort.
