Welcome to our speaker series! The Ocean Allies speaker series aims to connect you with experts in equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion topics to support you and Canada’s ocean sector! We are excited to announce that Barry Stevens will be our keynote speaker for month of January, to discuss his journey as an entrepreneur & navigating Indigenous engagement programs in the Canada’s Ocean Sector.

As a Mi’kmaq Acadia First Nation community member, Barry has held positions in both management and engineering roles in advanced development laboratories, anti-submarine warfare product design, HF communications, business development and consulting, training, product sales, and production management.

As SS&DI focused its R&D efforts to Climate Change adaptation visualization software, 3D Wave Design Mapping Solutions (www.3dwavedesign.com) was born. 3D Wave Design has developed close relationships with environmental, First Nations and applied geomatics research groups, particularly in relation to wildfire and inland flood risk assessments, and global warming induced sea-level rise prediction and simulation.

What we’ll do: The first half of the session will begin with Barry opening the session with a presentation (topic TBD), followed by an open Q&A session! The second half of the session will give you an opportunity to network with Barry, and people within Canada’s ocean sector.
