In early 2021, OERA in partnership with NRCan commissioned a feasibility study to examine the potential for hydrogen to aid decarbonization and grow the economy in Newfoundland & Labrador. The study expands on the previously completed Maritimes Hydrogen Study to look at how the hydrogen sector could evolve across Atlantic Canada. Results span the entire value chain including hydrogen production, transmission, distribution, and end-use. This presentation will focus on the unique opportunities and challenges for hydrogen in Newfoundland & Labrador as well as the potential for interprovincial collaboration throughout the region.
