About this event

The National Academies will be releasing their report evaluating U.S. contributions to global ocean plastic waste on December 1, 2021 at 11:00 ET. The report evaluates the prevalence of marine debris and mismanaged plastic waste, examines the import and export of plastic waste to and from the United States, and assesses the potential value of a national marine debris monitoring system. In addition, the committee will also develop recommendations on knowledge gaps and potential means to reduce United States contributions to global ocean plastic waste.

The public report release will take place between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM ET. To learn more about this study, please visit the website. The Zoom Webinar information will be provided closer to the date of the event. Please contact Kenza at ksidi-ali-cherif@nas.edu. This will be an online event.
