Details

The ocean is our biggest ally in mitigating climate change, but it’s also bearing the brunt of the climate crisis. It’s time the ocean takes center stage in the global agenda to protect our blue planet.

Join us on Thursday, 9 March, 2023 for the next in our Roundtable series, which will be held virtually in two sessions to facilitate participation from the global community.

  • Morning Session (5 AM ET / 11 AM CET)
  • Afternoon Session (2 PM ET / 8 PM CET)

*When registering, you will be prompted to select your preferred meeting time. Meetings will be held on Zoom.

This event series has been designed to foster inclusive dialogue, drive a strong ocean-climate focus on the agenda within the UNFCCC processes as well as other relevant UN processes and global convenings. The Roundtable series is hosted by Oceanic Global in partnership with IOC UNESCOand The Ocean Decade

To encourage a groundswell of support for the ocean at COP, access to the Roundtable events is free for all who register. In the spirit of growing this community and leading inclusive conversations, this event is open to new registrants. Previous participation is not required.

If you are interested in donating to Oceanic Global and our work to protect the ocean and our collective wellbeing please feel free to select a donation range upon registration or donate directly on our website here.

Discussion Circles

Following the inaugural Roundtable session, which was held in-person at The Ocean x Climate Summit at COP 27, the second in the series will be held virtually and mirror the format to include smaller discussion ‘circles’ (via breakout rooms) for all to contribute and participate in a more intimate setting.

A summary of the first Roundtable Session (hosted on Nov 11, 2022 at COP 27) will be shared to integrate further insights as well as facilitate followup actions with their breakout group. The summary document will be shared with the group prior to the March meeting so the reconvening can carry the conversation forward and help set clear targets for the future. Previous Roundtable participation is not required to attend this event.

*Further information including facilitators and discussion prompts to be provided prior to the event date.
